You failed to mention that Ms. Goody is of West-Indian Descent. Perhaps you don't attach any significance to this but maybe you would if you researched the the traditional British colonial hierarchy, maybe you would if you looked into academic research that suggest that West-Indian immigrants and their descendants are more likely to end up in the lower socio-economic groups of British society. Another unexplored issue is that, although it is undeniable that Ms. Goody was 'badly-educated' she was 'badly-educated in this country. That's not something to feel particularly smug about. There are those who would argue that one of the reasons Ms. Goody was denied the education given to her more privileged peers was that she cared for her disabled mother from an early age - another unexplored issue.
