Schoolgirls In Red Shoes

School girls in red shoes, empty-headed,
Devoid of principles. Sapphire eyes flickering
Golden manes glowing and I remain
Their devotee as I struggle to see the world
From their perspective. I covet their luminosity
But their hard gaze falls upon me

Sharp as pine needles embedded in the skin
I grow red as an overboiled lobster
I turn and flee, and their laughter pursues me.
