Darkness Discharged

Is it discipline? Is it brutality?
Or is it a kind of mockery
My ersatz mother beside me
Succumbs to slow decay

And we watch the war in the sky
For tomorrow we may die
But we are untouched by bomb or bullet
For we are not strategic targets

We are just weary travellers
Sailors home from the sea
Soldiers home from the war
And still my mother clings to me.

LAFD News Blog and new Google Reader
Most often, this blog touts the endeavors of our Department. In a rare step from that focus, I wanted to cover a few admin issues, as well as make you aware of a cool new offering by our friends at Google.
Hey, you have an awesome blog here! Keep it up. I have a satellite phone system site. It pretty much covers satellite phone system related stuff.

Come and check it out when you get time :-)
